If your battery is capable of a discharge rate of 35 amps at 12 volts that would be a power rate of 420 watts. You really need to do a search on Google for storage battery capacity and get some information on what is available for your application.

A panel can only put out so many amps, so while the voltage is reduced from say, 33 volts to 13.6 volts, the amps from the panel cannot go higher than the rated amps - so with a 175 watt panel rated at 23 volts/7.6 amps, you will only get 7.6 amps @ 12 volts or so into the battery.

To prevent overcharge, please us a solar charge controller. As far as the actual calculations go, please use the calculator to find out how many watts you need for charging.

The charge time difference between using a 500W 24V panel or 500W 12V panel should be neglible. To calculate the charge time, divide the energy by the power. For example fully charging a half discharged battery would require 220 Ah / 2 * 12 V = 1.32 kWh of energy. If your panels output 500W, this would take 1320 Wh / 500 W = 2.64 h = 2 h 38 min.

Example: How many DC amps will a 12-volt inverter require to operate three 500-watt quartz lights, or a 1500-watt electric heater? Answer: 1) Total watts = 1500; 2) 1500 watts/100 (from formula) = 15; 3) 15 X 10 amps (from formula) = 150 amps. This is the DC current …

One 100 watt solar panel in 10 hours of strong sunlight every day into your battery and you are self sufficient. In the real world never drag your batteries below %50 charge. Double above number. ... 700 amps x 12 volts = 8400 watts for an hour or 350 watts per hour for a 24 hour period.

When an 18 volt (Vmp) panel is connected to a 12 volt battery, only 12 of the potential 18 volts is being used to charge the battery. All of the panel's amps are available, but only 12 of the panel's 18 volts.

How to convert 100 watts to amps. How to convert electric power of 100 watts (W) to electric current in amps (A). You can calculate (but not convert) the amps from watts and volts: Amps calculation with voltage of 12V DC. For DC power supply, amps are equal to watts divided by volts. amp = watt / volt.

The equation for finding how many watt hours are available in a battery when the amp hours are known is voltage x amp hours. For instance, a 12 volt 105 amp hour (AH) battery can supply 1260 watt hours (12 volts x 105 amp hours =1260 watt hours).
